Coastal Carolina enjoyed a five-game win streak before losing its final two games against Army and James Madison. The Chanticleers have plenty of players opting out or in the transfer portal, including starting QB Grayson McCall. Nevertheless, Coastal Carolina won six of seven against eventual bowl teams this season and the Chanticleers are 5-2 ATS as underdogs. They also won three of five games using backups quarterbacks. Redshirt freshman Ethan Vasko has started three of the past five games and is expected to start behind center in the Hawaii Bowl. Coastal Carolina erased a 15-point second-half deficit against Old Dominion on Nov. 4 with Vasko hitting Sam Pinckney for a game-winning 14-yard TD pass with 23 seconds remaining. Vasko had 350 yards of offense and rushed for 170 yards and a score against the Monarchs. San Jose State is riding a six-game win streak, but it hasn't won a bowl game since 2015 and lost 41-27 as a 3.5-point favorite to Eastern Michigan in the 2022 Potato Bowl. Take Coastal Carolina ATS as a Max Play and on the moneyline.
