BYU vs. Western Michigan

FAMOUS IDAHO POTATO BOWL - Western Michigan was Bowl-eligible last year and didn't get invited, which gives the Broncos a motivational edge this time around. They come off an upset win over Northern Illinois to snap a three-game losing streak, which occurred without their injured starting quarterback, Jon Wassink. The new QB is Kaleb Eleby and he has been a more than adequate replacement completing 64.9 of his passes for 917 yards and he had his finest performance against the Huskies, finishing 19-of-35 for 285 yards with no interceptions. BYU lost five of its last eight games and the three wins were against Hawaii, Massachusetts and New Mexico State. The Cougars became an independent to bolster its national prominence, but it's backfiring with their relatively weak schedule. BYU blew a 20-0 halftime lead to Utah and wound up losing 35-27 even while outgaining the Utes 357-296. Zach Wilson has thrown for 1,261 yards on a 62.2 percent completion rate, but he also has only eight TD passes with three interceptions. The Cougars are 0-4 ATS their last four Bowl games and 2-6 ATS IN their last eight neutral-site games. Giving double-digits to a team that feels disrespected is always dangerous, so take the big points with Western Michigan.
