BYU at California

Again, we get a less than fully motivated team to fade here. Cal was supposed to be the team that would challenge USC for Pac 10 supremacy. Hardly. Their defense was just above anemic, and their offense struggled mightily at times, leading them to this game, the Las Vegas Bowl. Not what Cal had hoped for. Not at all. Remember last year’s Las Vegas Bowl? Wyoming stunned a UCLA team that would have rather been studying for Final Exams. This reminds me of the same scenario. BYU fans will show up in droves here, as they are finally on the right path and back into the bowl season. This line has moved from 7 to 7.5 adding more value. BYU should have the crowd advantage here as it's a bigger game for them and they played on this field earlier this year and got 10,000 fans to travel for that one. BYU played a tough schedule this season, facing 7 winning teams while Cal had a relatively easy one. Yes, they played USC, UCLA and Oregon but beyond that, they played no one else with a winning record. One star on the Cougars and the points.
