Buffalo rebounded from a 38-0 loss to Missouri to rout Massachusetts 34-3 as just a 3-point favorite. C.J. Ogbonna threw for 185 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions and Lamar Sperling ran for 86 yards on 5.4 per carry for the Bulls, who held the Minutemen to 193 total offense yards. Buffalo allowed only 18.9 points per game its last eight games of 2023 and it returns six defensive starters, including a strong linebacker unit. Northern Illinois is still riding high after its stunning upset of Notre Dame although it caught the Fighting Irish in a tough scheduling spot after their big win over Texas A&M and then having a rivalry game with Purdue on deck after playing the Huskies. Northern Illinois QB Ethan Hampton was 10 of 19 for 198 yards with one TD against Notre Dame. The Huskies have lost four of their past five September games outright and they are 1-4 ATS their past five conference games. Take the points with Buffalo.
