Buffalo's been very good despite a losing record, having to steer through a rough early-season schedule at Nebraska and against Coastal Carolina. They lost to unbeaten Coastal Carolina, 28-25, as a +14 dog. Buffalo has an excellent ground game, averaging 4.7 yards per carry behind three backs that have topped 340 yards and are led by RB Dylan McDuffie (492 yards, 5.9 per carry). They rallied from 17 points down in the fourth quarter last week to defeat Ohio, 27-26, and the Bulls are 12-5 ATS as a favorite plus 42-24 ATS versus teams that allow 31+ points per game. Rebuilding Akron also has a losing record, but it has no ground game (2.7 yards per carry) and is on a 5-20 spread run. The Zips are on a 2-10 ATS run at home, plus 3-18 ATS as an underdog. Also, Buffalo has beaten Akron 56-7, 21-0, and 24-6 the last three years. Back Buffalo.
