Bowling Green at Ohio

Bowling Green had a very strong defense the last two seasons, and last year used it to upset Northern Illinois in the MAC Championship game. A lot of those players have moved on, and the defense has been green and growing on the season, while the offense takes center stage for the 4-2 Falcons. Bowling Green ranks #19th in the country in yards per game, and despite a poor defense, the offense has been able to carry the mail. Ohio has split six games, but wins over Eastern Illinois, Idaho, and Kent State are not very impressive. Their three games against legitimate opponents saw their offense score just a grand total of 27 points or 9 points per game. They will get more than that here, but the problem is that they simply don't have the weapons to take advantage of the Bowling Green defensive deficiencies, while the Falcons' offense will score a lot. The Falcons own a 13-5 ATS mark in their last 18 in conference play. Ohio U. is now 15-34 ATS in their last 49 after scoring fewer than 20 points in their previous game. Bowling Green gets the call in this one.
