The Bowling Green Falcons have their work cut out for them, heading to The Swamp to take on Florida. The Falcons have a competent, experienced QB, but the problem is the top six wide receivers in the program have all departed. It is likely that his numbers will be down this season, especially vs. the likes of a Florida defense that he will face. The Falcons struggled vs. the few good defenses they saw last year, scoring just 10 vs. West Virginia, 15 vs. Kent State and 13 vs. Temple. The problem here is that Florida has a better defense than all of them, and the QB has no reliable receivers to throw to. The Florida offense struggled last year, producing just 328 yards per game, and they will have to break-in another QB this year as Brantley has graduated. They may get better, but in game 1 they likely won’t be firing on all cylinders. Florida's last non-BCS conference FBS opponents have scored 3, 0, 0, 12, 3, and 10 points or an average of just 4.7 points per game. This is not the prolific Florida offense from the past, so expect this one to play UNDER the total.
