Boise State is a big dog but has plenty of talent, off seasons of 12-2, 9-4 and 10-3. Boise State was sharp on defense and special teams, topping Troy 24-13 in the opener. Troy mustered only 215 yards. Washington State is a big favorite, but not a stellar defensive team, allowing 45, 31, 33, 32, 31, 38 and 45 points in seven games last season. They come off an easy win over Montana State, but the Cougars are 7-15 ATS when following a straight-up win of more than 20 points. Last season's matchup was a thriller that came down to the wire as the Cougars rallied from 17 points down in the third quarter. Boise starting QB Brett Rypien threw for 299 yards, completing 19-of-35 passes in the 31-28 in that win and will start here. His uncle is former Cougars' standout quarterback Mark Rypien, who was a Super Bowl MVP with the Washington Redskins. Boise State beat Washington State with 31 points and 420 yards despite having the ball only 22 minutes while going 3-for-10 on third down. Home favorites off a home win of 17 points or more in a game involving two teams who had 60-80% winning records the previous season are 9-32 ATS. This looks like another close one, so back the talented and experienced dog and take the points on Boise State.
