The Baylor Bears lost one of the most exciting QBs in CFB. But, it did not slow down the offense as Nick Florence took over at QB for RG3, and kept the ball flying. The Bears’ 579 yards per game were tops in the land, but there were also some big negatives. While the Bears’ attack was producing 44.1 points per game the defense opened the door at the other end of the field, allowing 38.2 ppg. The Bears’ defense recorded just 13 sacks and allowed the highest third-down conversion rate in the country at over 56% - they simply could not stop anyone. The offense was special again under Florence, but he did throw 13 INTs on the season. UCLA finished 9-4 on the season and is no stranger to big offenses. The Bruins took on the offenses of No. 29 USC, No. 24 Nebraska, No. 18 Houston, and No. 7 Arizona, and allowed an average of 18.5 ppg to those teams. That sets the stage for the Bruins to get a reasonable amount of stops while their No. 20 ranked offense plows through the porous Bears’ defense. Play on UCLA.
