Auburn at Mississippi State

Auburn has a new lease on life after firing HC Bryan Harsin and several assistants. The interim coach is Carnell Williams, who was a star running back for the Tigers in the early 2000s. Williams quickly assembled his own staff and the Tigers will go to work trying to salvage what has been another disappointing season. Auburn catches Mississippi State coming off two losses while scoring only 23 points, and that is very unusual for a Mike Leach-coached squad. The Bulldogs were routed 30-6 by Alabama after losing to Kentucky 27-17, and they then had a bye week. The Bulldogs did not score until the fourth quarter against the Crimson Tide and Will Rogers probably had a tired arm after throwing 60 times and completing 30 for 231 yards with no touchdowns. Auburn is 10-3 ATS its past 13 games after losing by 10-plus points at home and Mississippi State is 1-6 ATS after a bye week. A new coach usually inspires a team, especially for the first few games.
