Auburn at LSU

There are problems surfacing at Auburn where there is now a QB controversy and that spells trouble against the Bayou Cats who own one of the best secondaries in the country. The LSU defense is just plain nasty and is perhaps their best ever. Auburn has tallied just 47 points in the last three weeks, but that just begins to tell the story. Auburn QBs have thrown for 123, 104, and 112 yards the last three weeks and have totaled seven INTs. Now they tackle an LSU team allowing 11.7 points per game, which brings opponents’ rushing attacks to a screeching halt at 75 yards per game. If you are facing third-and-long all day, which Auburn will be with inaccurate and mistake prone QBs, trouble is brewing. I would not be surprised to see the Bayou Cats’ defense outscore Auburn in this one. The Tigers are pouring it on in conference play at 13-3 ATS in their last 16, and with BCS eyes upon them they will be rolling this one up. Over the last eight seasons, home conference favorites off six straight wins are 104-45 ATS. Play on LSU in this one.
