ARIZONA BOWL - This game is going to be somewhat forgotten as it is nestled in with the four-team playoff semifinals and some much more interesting Bowl games. Arkansas State had a somewhat disappointing season. QB Justice Hansen did have a very good season with 27 TDs to just six INTs, but the Red Wolves' eight wins did not include any vs. a team that made a Bowl game, and collectively the teams they beat went just 26-58. That doesn't include a win vs. Southeast Missouri State of the FCS. It's hard to trust the numbers as this team still has not beaten anyone of reasonable quality all season. The run defense really eroded this year after finishing 2017 allowing 136 rushing yards per game at 3.6 a carry to 201 per game at five yards per carry in 2018, despite a rather weak schedule. Nevada was 3-9 last year ago but won two of their last three after a 1-8 start, so they have been 9-6 since. The offense really came together late in the season, averaging over 520 yards per game in the last three, and if not for blowing a 23-0 lead vs UNLV in the finale, they would be riding a five-game winning streak here. Nevada should be excited to be here, are closer to home, and an eighth win would be the most for them since 2010. Nevada was a double-digit dog in foour games, and a dog overall in seven and still managed seven wins. Play on Nevada.
