Appalachian State has been one of the most successful teams since coming over from the FCS. The Mountaineers have expanded on that success to enjoy and show up big for Bowl games as well. Appalachian St. has been to a Bowl every season since 2015 and has posted a perfect 6-0 record in their 6 Bowls. They have not just won, they have dominated as they have out-scored their last four Bowl opponents 166-58. It has been a big year for Western Kentucky, but they have a major flaw. The offense has been top 10 all season, but what the offense has generated, the defense has given back, and when they have faced stiffer competition they have fallen short more often than not. The Mountaineers can match scores with them but are also more than capable of getting stops on the defensive end, which is where the edge will be in this one. Make the play on Appalachian State.
