Appalachian State at UL Monroe

The Michigan Wolverines have recorded three straight shutouts, and pretty much everyone knows that. What very few people are aware of is that Appalachian State has recorded more shutouts since the start of last season than any other FBS team. This is a team that not only has an above average offense, but the defense is allowing 4.4 yards per play, and seems to get it done on a weekly basis. That presents a huge problem for the UL Monroe Warhawks, as they have one of the worst offenses in the country, and will have a tough time finding the end-zone here. The Warhawks have allowed 170 points, or 42.5 points per game in their four games vs. FBS teams, while scoring just 23 ppg themselves. Appalachian State played well up in class against Clemson, but in their other four games has allowed a grand total of 16 points or 4 ppg. It's pretty clear that the road favorite has a lot more to offer, so back Appalachian State in this one.
