We have gotten to the point of the season where the Sun Belt Conference gets some air time with weekday games. The Mountaineers have made a big splash since joining the FBS, posting a 7-5 record their very first year back in 2014, and went 11-2 last season. They are a ball-control triple-option team, that has averaged 47 rushing attempts per contest on the season. The issue this season has been that the running game is not generating consistent yards at just 4.5 per tote. The second problem is the best part of the Lafayette defense has been defending the run, allowing just 2.8 yards per carry. Opponents have tried to run on this team, and even Boise State had problems. The Lafayette offense is not that good despite playing some soft competition in their last four games.
