Appalachian State at Troy

The Appalachian State Mountaineers have made a full jump to the FBS, but they did not bring the same caliber of team with them that took the field in the FCS. The Mountaineers have found the going tough, as they are 0-5 to start the season vs. FBS opponents. While the offense appears FBS ready, the defense is another story all together as they gave up 55 points to Liberty last week, and 47 to South Alabama in their game prior to that. This team has been exposed on the defensive end. Troy finally got one in the win column at home vs, New Mexico State and that should do their psyche good, playing at home again this week with a beatable opponent on the other side. The Mountaineers haven't traveled very well at 1-6 ATS in their last seven. The Trojans may have been buried by Georgia 66-0, but have run off a 4-0 ATS mark in their conference in the last four, where they have been strongly competitive, and have a good shot to add to that here.
