Appalachian State at East Carolina

Appalachian State got pummeled by Clemson on Saturday, but the Mountaineers still are favored in this game as they match up much better against East Carolina, which is coming off a 2-10 season. The Pirates are 2-0 with wins against FCS Norfolk State and Old Dominion, but the Mountaineers will provide a stiffer challenge. Appalachian State QB Joey Aguilar struggled against the Tigers completing 18 of 41 for 214 yards and a touchdown. Running back Anderson Castle ran for 80 yards on 11.4 per carry. East Carolina was down 7-6 at the half against the Monarchs before pulling out a 20-14 win. Jake Garcia completed 25 of 38 for 283 yards, but with no TDs and four interceptions. The Pirates won't be so fortunate this week and Appalachian State is 7-0 ATS its past seven games coming off a double-digit loss and 9-2 ATS after allowing more than 35 points. East Carolina is 5-0 UNDER after yielding fewer than 100 yards rushing its previous game and 5-0 UNDER after an ATS win. The Pirates have gone UNDER four straight as underdogs.
