Alabama at Mississippi State

This is only the third true road game for Alabama and it's a tough one. The Crimson Tide are off an emotional game at home last week, shutting down unbeaten rival LSU, 30-16. But they face another stiff test against the #20 Mississippi State Bulldogs. Alabama is 0-4 ATS after a spread cover and 1-7-1 ATS after allowing fewer than 170 yards passing in their previous game. They faced a one-dimensional LSU offense last week, a team that couldn't pass the football. They face a very different Mississippi State offense this week. The Bulldogs have averaged 40.75 points during their four-game winning streak and are coming off a 31-13 victory at Missouri. Heisman Trophy candidate QB Dak Prescott racked up 351 total yards in the rain with four touchdown passes against a Missouri team that entered the game ranked first in the SEC in scoring defense. Prescott has topped 300 yards passing in three straight games, and both of his favorite targets went over 100 yards receiving last week, with Fred Ross making 11 catches for 115 yards and De’Runnya Wilson adding four receptions for 102 yards. Mississippi State is on a 6-2 ATS run, 12-5 ATS against winning teams, and 5-1 ATS at home. Mississippi State leads the SEC and ranks third nationally in the red zone, producing touchdowns on 75 percent of its drives inside the 20. The Bulldogs have outscored opponents 62-12 in the fourth quarter and have not allowed a touchdown in the final period all season. This will be a close one and the home team is 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings, so jump on the big home dog and play Mississippi State.
