Alabama has been unstoppable. With both Heisman and National Championship trophies in hand, they have started this season 3-0, winning on average 45-6. Time to fade! That's right. As soon as it seems too easy, as soon as everyone lines up on a sure thing, it's time to go the other way. It's no surprise that the public is all over Bama here. Alabama is inflated here thanks to two cupcake games. They were 40-point favorites in game one vs. San Jose State and 24-point favorites last week vs. Duke. The only real opponent they have faced thus far was Penn State. This will be their first stiff test. Arkansas is ranked No. 10 in the nation and for good reason. Bobby Petrino's team has 10 returning starters on offense including Ryan Mallet and seven on defense. They have handled the cupcakes on their schedule, winning games against Tennessee Tech and Louisiana Monroe by a combined score of 75-10. Their first test came last week at Georgia where they won on the road. That win will give them confidence going into this game, especially as the host. Winning on the road in the SEC is tough. Doing it against an excellent team and winning by more than a touchdown is a very tall order. Bama's offense is awesome. But, let's not forget that this Razorbacks team held Mark Ingram to 50 yards and 2.9 yards per carry. Bobby Petrino is 24-11 ATS at home in his career including 10-2 ATS vs. winning teams. I like Arkansas to keep this close and maybe win.
