Louisiana-Lafayette is home and has had two weeks to prepare. They come off a 44-17 rout of Northwestern State with 547 yards, including 360 rushing. UL Lafayette has a great 1-2 backfield punch of Elijah McGuire (248 yards, 6.2 ypc) and Torrey Pierce (162 yards, 7.4 ypc). Throw in mobile QB Brooks Haack (7.1 ypc) and this offense features three runners averaging over 6.1 ypc! They lost to Kentucky of the SEC in the opener despite 33 points and 435 yards (6.8 yards per rush). They come off a 44-17 rout, and note that the UNDER is 11-5 after the Ragin' Cajuns score more than 40 points in their previous game. Louisiana-Lafayette is also on a 4-1 ATS run, plus 9-2 SU in its last 11 games. It's their second straight home contest and they face a bad Akron squad that tallied a total of 10 points in its first two games. Akron is on a 2-7 straight-up run, as well as 1-10 ATS in its last 11 games. The Zips' offense struggles badly on the road with the team 0-5 SU/ATS its last five road contests and the team is on a 25-9 run UNDER the total, and 14-3 UNDER on the road. Akron may be off a rare win but the team is just 8-20 ATS after a victory. Meanwhile rested Louisiana-Lafayette is on a 21-4 SU run at home, plus 4-1 ATS in its last five home contests. Take UL Lafayette and play the UNDER.
