The Oklahoma Sooners have been one of the top programs in the country year after year. The Sooners are projected as a top 15 team this season, and the early returns have been good, and they may surprise and be a strong national contender when it's all said and done. Lincoln Riley is now the OC, and he really spread the field at East Carolina, and will do the same here at OU. The Sooners also have RB Samaje Perine, who scored 21 times, and ground out 1,713 yards as a freshman, and certainly has Heisman talent. While the defense may have some deficiencies early, it won't be enough for an Akron team, projected around the #100 best in the country, to exploit it for much. Akron finished dead last in the MAC a year ago in passing efficiency, and #118 in the country, and that wasn't against the speed, talent, and depth of this Sooners team. Further complicating matters is the loss of Jawon Chisholm, who was the Zips leading rusher the last four years. Oklahoma is going to score a lot in this one, and the Zips aren't going to have enough to make a push and score often enough to stay within the number. All Oklahoma in this one.
