Akron at Illinois

Akron steps up to play the Big 10 in the opener. They will have some growing pains on offense with a new playbook and a new coach in Tom Arth. Akron's offense was a mess last year, the third-worst in FBS, with the Zips on a 57-25 run UNDER the total. They are also 21-6 UNDER when playing on FieldTurf, plus 8-1 UNDER in non-conference tilts. Illinois is rebuilding again and they're not sure who the quarterback will be. Sophomore M.J. Rivers transferred out so Matt Robinson and freshman Isaiah Williams are battling it out. They will look to run the football, which chews up the clock, behind tailback Reggie Corbin and four offensive line returnees.
