The Akron Zips may be aptly named this season. They salvaged a win in their last game a year ago, and they will be challenged once again this season to find the win column. Akron has not gotten into the end-zone yet in two games, and will once again be challenged on the road at Cincinnati to find it this week. What will make matters worse is that this will be an angry Bearcats club that took it on the chin last week at Rocky Top, in a 22-point loss at Tennessee. What might otherwise be a "mail-in" game for Cincinnati, will take on an entirely different approach. Remember this is a Cincinnati team that wasn't afraid to pile up 72 points in their opener vs. Austin Peay, and if you’re worried about the dreaded backdoor cover, think again. Cincinnati scored 21 in the final quarter against Austin Peay. Akron has allowed 467 yards per game this season and Cincinnati is averaging 479 per game. The Bearcats are 15-4 ATS in their last 19 games when they gain 500+ yards. They are also 43-5 ATS when they allow 14 or fewer points, which is very likely here given that the Zips have scored a total of 3 points in their first two games. This one will be ugly early, so play on Cincinnati in a blowout.
