Akron at Auburn

The Akron Zips program is struggling right now. The team has had one win over the last 2 years and it came against Bowling Green another team that has really struggled. They have really struggled to score in the MAC Conference where offenses tend to out-perform defenses on a week-to-week basis. The Zips have averaged a woeful 12.7 points per game over the last 2 years. They are really going to have their hands full trying to get on the scoreboard vs an SEC team in Auburn that is traditionally strong and deep on defense. The total here is in the mid-50s and Auburn is going to have to get most of those points, if not all of them. Looking at the 98 games between the SEC and the MAC over decades the MAC has averaged just 14.5 points per game, and this is a MAC offense that is far below average. I think we see reserves early for Auburn and getting the points needed to get this one over the top is not likely. Make the play on the under.
