Wright State has had some big years in the Horizon including last year's 21-win team. They will be hard-pressed to duplicate that this season as indicated by their 0-4 start out of the gate, includes a 19-point loss to Sam Houston State. The Raiders were counting on a pair of double-digit scoring returnees to carry the load, but they have both been a huge disappointment. Vaughn Duggins contributed 13.8 points per game a year ago is their leading scorer so far, but at just 11.8 ppg. At 11.8 ppg a year ago, Todd Brown is adding just 4.2 ppg this season. It shows the lack of the inside presence brought by departed Jordan Pleiman. The Phoenix have three returning scorers that are all producing again this season, and a pleasant surprise has been the play and contributions of Chop Tang (11 ppg, 6 rpg) and Troy Cotton, who has become the leading scorer for the Phoenix. Wright St. has few options and the Phoenix have plenty and should rise at home for a convincing win.
