Bob Huggins has filled his roster with transfers and junior college players to improve on last season's 16-17 record and so far so good as the Mountaineers rolled to an easy 76-58 win over Mount St. Mary's on Monday while shooting 49 percent. It was the tenacious defense though that was the story of the game as Mount St. Mary's shot just 33 percent and Emmett Matthews Jr. led West Virginia with 15 points as it got points from 10 different scorers. Pittsburgh still is rebuilding after an 11-21 season and the Panthers lost their last five games, including a 20-point blowout by Boston College in the conference tournament. The Panthers did beat Tennessee Martin in their opener 80-58 while shooting just 37 percent and they made only 11 of 41 from 3-point range. Blake Hinson led Pittsburgh with 27 points, but no one else had more than 13 points. The Mountaineers won last year's meeting 74-59 and the road team is 4-1-1 ATS the past six meetings. Take West Virginia as a Max Play.
