You can see the impact of getting some games under their belt for this West Virginia team. They did not make a big commitment to the defensive end to start the season, and allowed four opponents to get to 80 points or more. That has changed, and should change further as we get into conference play. The Mountaineers, over their last four games, have held their opponents to 62.8 points per game. Texas Tech has scored well, until you look just at their games vs. BCS Conference opponents, and the numbers tumble. The Red Raiders, in six games vs. BCS level competition, have failed to score 70 points in any of them and average just 61.3 points per game. This certainly looks like a game where 70 points by the winner will be a reach. Tech has shown the propensity as mentioned above to play low vs. good teams, and history backs that up as they are now 23-9-1 to the UNDER in their last 33 vs. a team that is over .600. Make the play on the UNDER.
