Western Kentucky at Southern Mississippi

The direction of the Southern Miss basketball program is positive, as they brought in Morehead State coach Donnie Tyndall. Tyndall claimed two OVC Championships, and knocked off Louisville in the NCAA Tournament. He inherits a team that won 25 games last season, and although they lost three starters from that squad, they have players that gained valuable minutes and experienced winning quite a bit. Sothern Miss is not big, but they are athletic and quick and that will present problems for Western Kentucky. Despite a 16-19 record a year ago, the Hilltoppers won their Conference Tournament, and play-in game, before getting pasted by Kentucky. The Hilltoppers struggled all season to find offense and lost some key parts, so they will be starting from less early on. Western Kentucky has struggled outside the weak Sun Belt Conference where they are just 7-17 ATS in their last 24.
