Western Illinois will travel to South Dakota to take on the Coyotes with the winner moving over .500 for the season. The Coyotes were one of the top Div-1A programs in the country and held their own in the Great West Conference, but struggled last season after joining the Summit. South Dakota was 10-18, winning just five games in the league. Progress will be hard to come by this season with the departure of their top two scorers in Westbrook and Krogman, taking 36 points per game with them. The Coyotes may be 3-3, but the two wins are vs. non-Div-1 programs. Western Illinois made a quantum leap last year turning a seven-win season from the previous year to 18 wins last year, and making their first postseason appearance ever. The Leathernecks have a lot of those same pieces in place and could be better this year, and have a lot more answers at this stage than South Dakota. Take Western Illinois.
