Utah State at Iowa

Iowa is the conference name and Utah State is the steady program. Iowa parted ways with Steve Alford who just couldn't get it done at Iowa. The Big Ten's leading scorer from a year ago Adam Huluska is gone, and Tyler Smith one of the top FR in the league last year, and Iowa's second-best player has transferred to Tennessee. That means Iowa a team that did not do much with those players on board have a long road to climb in the Big Ten. That leaves Tony Freeman's 7.5-ppg the leading returnee for the Hawkeyes. Utah State caught a break when Jaycee Carroll dropped out of the NBA draft. Carroll is capable of dominating a game, and in a game expected to be close, we like the idea of the best player on the floor taking over the game late. Carroll had a bad game against Vandy, so we expect him to have a big one today. Iowa suffered its first loss, and a young team sometimes loses confidence from that, so we will ride Utah State in this one.
