This is a good matchup for a talented and tough Texas Tech squad. You need defense this time of the year and the Red Raiders have been great all season allowing 64.6 points per game, #15 in the nation. The way to attack Purdue is with big, athletic guards and that's what Texas Tech has with senior Keenan Evans (17.8 points per game), Jarrett Culver (11.5 ppg) and 6-5 freshman Zhaire Smith (11.3 ppg). The trio can shoot the three and drive to the basket with their size advantage. The Red Raiders topped Florida, 69-66, on Saturday allowing 39.7% shooting as their three big guards scored 22, 18 and 11 points. T-Tech shot 40% from long range. The Red Raiders are 7-3 ATS in non-conference games, including 7-2-1 ATS against the Big Ten. Purdue isn't overly athletic and is still likely to be without starting center 7-2 Isaac Haas (14.7 ppg), who did not play against Butler the last game with a fractured elbow. Purdue is on a 3-12-1 ATS run, 1-10 ATS following a straight up win. That key injury along with the Texas Tech quickness will be the differences. Play Texas Tech.
