Texas State at Rice

The Rice Owls are in for some struggling this year, and their 3-9 record may be better than they actually are. The Owls cashed three games vs. the likes of  St. Edwards, St. Thomas-TX, and Northwestern State - hardly a trifecta of wins that would leave one confident. The Owls have lost to all of their nine other opponents. One severe issue is the lack of offense, and scoring droughts occurring in just about every game, as the Owls have shot a woeful 38.6% or less in 8 of their 12 games. Texas St. is 6-6, and the big difference is the Bobcats have shot 46% or better in five of their last seven. There is a huge gap to fill putting points on the board for the Owls, and they will come up short again at home. Make the play on Texas State.
