The Hoyas own a powerhouse front line that is big and great defensively, allowing just 58.7 points per game. But, this team showed real weakness last time out vs. Tennessee, as Georgetown scored just 37 points on 16-for-44 shooting. They grabbed the win but certainly underperformed as a big favorite. It was Georgetown’s lowest offensive output in 28 years. They now face a Texas team that can also play defense. Longhorns’ guard Sheldon McClellan has reached double-digits in scoring in all seven games this season. Texas suffered an embarrassing early loss to Chaminade, but since then seem to have a renewed energy and they are coming off a great performance vs. Texas-Arlington in which the Longhorns held their opponent to just 29.5% shooting. Georgetown beats lower-level teams, but they have struggled vs. great teams. They lost to Indiana earlier this season and over the past three years, the Hoyas are just 8-18 ATS vs. teams at .600 or better. Since John Thompson III took over, Georgetown is 40-53 ATS vs. such teams. Take Texas.
