The Tigers have welcomed the return of Bruce Price, who was averaging over 19 ppg last year before tearing an ACL. Price opted for the NBA draft, but after being given an extra year by the NCAA he decided to return. He has elevated his scoring to 21.4 ppg, and is also averaging 6 apg, to go along with 3 steals. LaDarius Weaver connected on 93 three pointers last season, and is at it again connecting on 41.5%. The biggest surprise has been Gerald Robinson pouring in 16.4 ppg. Add in Miss State transfer Jarrel Houston at 10.7 ppg and the Tigers have a solid nucleus of players. E. Illinois has failed to even make it to the Ohio Valley Tournament the past two years, and are once again off to a dreadful start. They have yet to come within 6 points of a D-1A opponent. They are shooting an abysmal 41%, while allowing 47%, and they are not defending the perimeter either, allowing opponents to connect on 43% from deep. The Panthers off back-to-back 20 loss seasons, appear to be heading for another one with their 1-7 start.
