Sure Villanova is wonderful and the beat Connecticut and can contend to be the best in the land. However, we are not concerned with who wins but who covers. Simple as that. The total on this game is 129.5 yet St. John's is getting 16 points. That's basically giving you a 1/4 of the total expected points in a game. Thus, given that St. Johns is a top 100 team, a team that has solid defense and furthermore, a team that beat Xavier on the road recently, this team is more than competent to keep it within the spread even against Villanova in this Big East rivalry game. Nova is coming off the huge UCONN game and simply can't be "up" for this game. St. Johns can play defense (allowing 59.3 ppg on the season and 57.8 ppg over their last five). Let's take the points here and fade the public. Three stars on St. Johns.
