With other conferences down, this is the year of the Big East. As many as 11 teams from this conference might go to the dance. These are two of those teams. The Bearcats have only one loss at home this season but I like them to fall here this afternoon as they face a Red Storm team that just took down UConn 89-72. Three games prior to that, St. John's took down Duke by 15 points. This team can ball and right now is playing well. When facing winning teams, the Red Storm is 11-6 straight-up this season. They have also fared very well against good defenses like they will be facing today (those allowing under 43% from the field), going 9-4 against such teams. They will have the added motivation of revenge in this game having fallen by 2 points in January at home. That's good news as St. Johns is 6-1 straight-up this season when seeking revenge. Under head coach Mick Cronin, the Bearcats are just 3-8 straight-up as a home favorite in this range (-165 to -250) so Cincy is vulnerable on multiple fronts here. If they can beat Connecticut and Duke, why can't St. Johns take down Cincinnati? I'm going for the upset call in this one.
