Washington State's new coach, Kyle Smith, will try to turn things around after an 11-21 season. He plans to do it mostly by teaching the team how to play defense after it allowed 78.7 points per game last season. Smith had previous success at San Francisco and Columbia and he'll start with a good backcourt combination in junior college transfer Isaac Bonton and freshman Noah Williams. The top player on the team though is forward C.J. Elleby, who averaged 14.7 points and 7.1 rebounds last season. Also, Jeff Pollard and his defensive skills are back. Seattle comes off an 18-15 season and returns four starters, but the Redhawks are only 5-13 ATS their last 18 games overall. The Cougars are 11-5 ATS their last 16 non-conference games and 11-1 ATS their last 12 against WAC teams. Play Washington State.
