The Diamond Head Classic in Hawaii hasn't gone well for either of these teams. San Francisco is a big favorite but hasn't done anything to deserve laying big chalk, riding a 5-game losing streak. They are not a strong offensive team, scoring 63 points or less during a four-game skid, then lost the last game 85-78 to Ole Miss, blowing a halftime lead as they ran out of gas. San Francisco shot 60.7 percent from the field in the first half, but just 40.7 percent after halftime, exposing their lack of depth (two starters played 37 minutes). East Tennessee State has had a tougher road, playing No. 4 Arizona and the home team, Hawaii, in this tourney. They didn't have a grueling game like San Francisco the last game, getting blown out by Hawaii with three players off the bench getting 10+ minutes. The Buccaneers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a loss of more than 20 points and 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a loss. Under head coach Murry Martow, the Bucs are 16-6 ATS as a neutral court underdog and 21-9 ATS after a loss by 15+ points. Take East Tennessee State plus the points.
