Sam Houston at Tarleton State

Sam Houston State won both meetings last season and it finished the 2023-24 season winning eight of its final nine games. However, the Bearkats did lose their season opener 91-75 to Nevada on Monday as the Wolf Pack shot 57 percent and 10 of 22 from 3-point distance. Marcus Boykin led the Bearkats with 17 points and their star player, Lamar Wilkerosn, added 11 points. Tarleton State got crushed by SMU 96-62 and that was not a surprise as the Texans lost all five starters from last year and they shot just 38 percent against the Mustangs.
