San Diego finished with an 18-15 record and coach Steve Lavin will look to do it again this season as the Toreros move into the second year of a rebuild. The top returnee is Steven Jamerson II, who averaged 8.3 points and 8.1 rebounds in 2023-24, also leading the team in blocks and steals. Rider has lost its past six November contests and the Broncs were destroyed 85-50 by UCLA on Monday. They were getting 22 points and didn't come close to covering, shooting 32 percent. The Broncs lost their best player from last season, Mervin James, and return just two starters from a 15-17 team.
