Providence at St. John's

The providence Friars have been living in the fast lane off to an 11-2 start. We have seen this play out many times before, as the Friars look like a team of promise, but Big East play tends to be the equalizer. The Friars have had a very soft schedule with their most notable win is perhaps by the 7 points over a Boston College team that is heading for the ACC basement. They were outclassed by both Northern Iowa and Iowa State - their toughest two opponents, by 10+ in both games. St. John's is young, athletic, deep and talented and it may take a while for it all to come together, but the Big East opener at the Garden will have them amped. The Friars show their true stripes on the road vs. a team with a winning record at 0-5 ATS in their last five, while the Red Storm are 7-2 ATS in their last nine as a dog. Go with St. John's.
