Oregon State at Long Beach State

Coach Wayne Tinkle has done a fine job rebuilding the Oregon State basketball program as it improved to 16-16 last season, and the Beavers have won four of their first five this season. Oregon State comes off a 74-58 win over Penn in the Paradise Jam Tournament in the Virgin Islands with the coach's son, Tres Tinkle, pouring in 32 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. The Beavers are shooting 46.6 percent compared to 39.7 percent for Long Beach State, which is off to its usual slow start losing four of its first six games following an 87-72 defeat to Utah Valley State on Wednesday. Deishaun Booker scored 29 points, but the only other scorer in double figures was Temidayo Yussuf with 11 points.
