Northern Colorado at Cal Poly SLO

The Cal-Poly Mustangs won 18 games a year ago, but must replace three scorers from that team. Coach Joe Callero is all about defense, and last year his Mustangs team led the conference in fewest points allowed at 60.5 points per game. He will likely have to rely on that type of defensive effort to win games this season. Senior Chris O'Brien, who missed all of last season due to injury, will fill one of the voids. The Northern Colorado Bears won their opener 127-81 vs. the University of the Southwest, hardly a household name, but their fortunes will change here, as they simply don't have the same caliber of athletes that Cal-Poly brings to this contest.
