North Carolina at Michigan State

The first annual Carrier Classic will take place on a parked aircraft carrier at the San Diego Naval base, and has a pair of high-profile programs slated to do battle. There may not be talent on any team that can match the Tar Heels’ loaded roster that is full of experience, size, speed, and shooting - you can say that they have all the answers. Michigan State had high expectations a year ago, but disappointed and lost their top three players.  So while this team doesn't necessarily rebuild, the reloading takes time to gain experience and gel. That won't be a good thing when facing arguably the nation’s most talented team, and on the road as well. Michigan State loses the leadership of Kalin Lucas at the point and has a lot of unanswered questions in the backcourt to open the season. The Spartans may be good late in the season, but this is just too tall a task in game one. North Carolina gets the call.
