New Mexico State has been smart to stay in the Western Athletic Conference while other schools left. The Aggies have taken advantage of playing many schools that are new to Division I, and they have a 26-6 record this season (17-12 ATS). The Aggies would be tough in most conferences, though, as they returned four starters from 2020-21 plus Teddy Allen, who is their leading scorer at 17.5 points per game. They won the WAC tournament by defeating Abilene Christian, 66-52, and holding the Wildcats to a paltry 33% shooting. The Aggies did it with Allen having one of his worst games, hitting just two for eight from the field. Connecticut is only 13-18-1 ATS, and it comes off of a 63-60 loss to Villanova in the conference tournament. New Mexico State allows just 65.0 points per game and a .391 field goal percentage, and it is 11-2 ATS in its last 13 games versus teams with .600 or higher winning percentages. The Huskies are 3-9-1 ATS against teams with winning records. Go with New Mexico State for a Max Play.
