Nebraska Omaha at Rice

Nebraska Omaha appears to have finally turned the corner with two straight wins over Idaho and UC Santa Barbara as returnees Mitch Hahn and Zach Jackson have been the keys to the Mavericks improving on last year's 9-22 record.  Jackson scored 22 points and Hahn added 11 against the Gauchos while Matt Pile grabbed 11 rebounds. The Mavericks endured a brutal stretch of five consecutive road games, but it has made them a better team. Both of teams are 5-7, but Rice is only 3-7 ATS and has lost five of its last seven games. The Owls come off a 7-24 season and are picked to finish last in Conference USA. Rice is just 1-4 ATS over its last five home games, including an overtime loss to UC Santa Barbara, which shot 52.5 percent versus the Rice defense.
