Montana State at CS Northridge

Cal State Northridge had a lackluster season last year, finishing a game under the .500 mark. They stepped into the deep end of the pool early vs. Arizona and San Diego State and were simply not competitive in either game. Maxwell and Hicks give the Matadors a pair of reliable scorers, but Hicks shot 0-5 in one of the first two games, and in the other game both reached double-digits while no one else on the team did. They are too dependent on a pair of scorers to do all the damage, and if one of them isn't hitting it spells immediate trouble. The Bobcats have also opened at 0-2. Former Oregon assistant Brian Fish has taken over and he has a great resume. Stephan Holm is now a sophomore and is a top shooter from long range at over 42% a season ago, and coming off the bench he will have a bigger role this season and can keep the Bobcats within reach in this one. The Matadors are just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 outside the conference and are getting too much respect. Play on Montana State.
