The Missouri Tigers saw their Cinderella season come to a close just shy of the Final Four vs. UConn. The Tigers live in a conference dominated by Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, but they are becoming a player. Although they lost three key starters, the backcourt can defend with the best in the country. Kim English has really stepped up from six points per game a year ago to 16+ and that has eased the scoring load from the departed seniors. Lawrence Bowers has also become a double-digit scorer, so the Tigers have found a few answers. The Commodores won 19 games a year ago, have all five starters back, and are enjoying a 4-1 start. There is one big problem and it is AJ Ogilvy. He has continued his regression from 17 points per game in year one to 15 a year ago, to under 11 this season. He has not improved off the glass and his 54% free-throw shooting is an added problem. Until he gets it going, Vandy is not going to improve, so I'll take the Tigers in this one.
