Mississippi at South Carolina

Coach Frank Martin's teams always are a battle for opposing teams. South Carolina plays 40 minutes of superb defense and the Gamecocks have won three of their last five and playing better than they have all season in this rebuilding year. Meanwhile, Mississippi has been a disaster and its coach, Andy Kennedy, already is gone and the Rebels have lost 10 of their last 11 games and have packed it in. The Rebels come off an 82-69 loss to a mediocre Vanderbilt squad on Saturday while allowing the Commodores 52.7 percent shooting. That followed an 18-point loss at Kentucky and an eight-point home loss to Tennessee. Chris Silva leads the Gamecocks with 14.1 points and 7.8 rebounds per game and Frank Booker adds 12.5 points.
