Minnesota had to find a different way to play when they lost leading scorer and rebounder Trevor Mbakwe for the season. They had to become a more disiplined team on both ends of the court. Michigan State once again has worked its way to the top of the Big-10 and the calling card is no different, it is defense. The last nine opponents for Michigan State have been held to 62 points or less, with seven of the nine failing to make it out of the 50s. With an offense that has spent 2/3 of their last nine games in the 60s or less, it will be difficult for this total to make it over the top. The Spartans are cranking up the "D" vs. winning teams, now 8-1 to the UNDER in their last nine, while the Gophers at 14-3 to the UNDER in their last 17 vs. a winning club. UNDER is the play.
